November 23, 2023 @ 11:00 pm - November 24, 2023 @ 2:00 am
Le chapitre de Montreal de l’IEEE BTS vous invite a une soirée de formation Co-sponsored by: This trainning event is made in collaboration with SMPTE Montreal Chapter Speaker(s): Guy Bouchard, Martin Dupras, Gyslain Collette, Orest Sushko Agenda: 18:30 – 19:15: Part 1: A diversified approach to feeding ATSC digital transmitters, Martin Dupras and Guy Bouchard (Presentation in French) This presentation is a case study of how to distribute signals to digital transmitters. Télé-Québec currently uses DVB-S2 satellite technology in C-band, but the latest spectrum assignment negotiations now impose sharing the reception band with 5G public cell phone services. The latter cause harmful interference to satellite signal reception, in some cases affecting service availability, as in the case of TQ. This presentation will describe the advantages and prerogatives of implementing this technology in existing infrastructure, the implementation prowess and future prospects. 19:30 – 20:00: Part 2: Le protocole SRT de Haivision’s, un protocol ‘open Source’ dédié au transport de services vidéo Ghislain Collette (Présentation en Francais) Haivision présentera les détails et les applications de leur protocole ‘open Source’ SRT pour lequel Haivision a gagné un Prix Emmy, ce protocole permet de transporter des services vidéo en faisant usage de l’internet public avec un fiabilité bien supérieure a celle des services en streaming conventionels . will present details and applications of the Emmy® Award-winning SRT open source video transport protocol, the ideal choice for reliable, high-quality, low-latency streaming of encrypted video. 20:00 – 20:20: Part 3: Presentation of Humber College’s ATSC 3.0 over-the-air/telecom convergence lab, Orest Sushko (Presentation in English and telepresence) Humber College, in the western suburbs of Toronto, is the only Canadian educational institution to receive funding to establish a laboratory for the convergence of over-the-air television (ATSC 3.0) and 5G telecommunications.
