Sensorless control drive and its impact in the advancement of automotive safety architecture

May 25, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Concordia University and the Industry Applications Society (IAS) chapter in collaboration with the Industrial Electronics Society (IES), Power Electronics Society (PELS), Power & Energy Society (PES) and IAS Concordia University Student Branch chapters in the IEEE Montreal Section cordially invites you to a seminar presented by Dr. Raja V Ramakrishnan, Chief-scientist (controls) at Halla Mechatronics, USA. This presentation gives a review of sensorless motor control drive systems. The present status of such drives in the industry and what challenges does the automotive industry faces implementing sensorless drives in its safety critical components. It then shows how such a drive system helps to develop next generation safety architecture for motor control drives by bringing down the cost but increasing the fault tolerant behaviour. Co-sponsored by: IEEE IAS society and IEEE Montreal Speaker(s): Raja Ramakrishnan Agenda: 3 pm to 3:30 pm -> Refreshments 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm -> Presentation 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm -> Questions and answers Room: 03.309, Bldg: EV, Concordia University SGW Campus, 1455 De Maisonneuve Blvd west, Montréal, Quebec, Canada, H3G 1M8
